The second-largest town in the Côtes D’Armor. Lannion stands at the head of the Léguer estuary. The hilly old port spreads both sides of the river, bordered by long quays and wooded towpaths which high tides often submerge. Fishing boats line the waterfront, and the huge monastery of St Anne is a prominent landmark. In the old town beautiful 15^th and 16^th century houses form a stately picture in the cobbled Place du Général Leclerc and along the streets near the sun dialed church of St-Jean-du-Baly. Some of these houses are corbelled and turreted, while others are carved with caryatids, dragons and impish faces.

Lannion has an attractive shopping centre for lace, antiques and crafts, also many bars and restaurants.
